Naked I came (original song)

I wrote this song in April 1991, as I propped my Bible up on my piano and opened it up to Job chapter 1. Three weeks later, on May 2, 1991, Paul & I were shocked and devastated when my mother unexpectedly and tragically completed suicide. Some friends of mine sang this at her funeral, and the words brought comfort to my heart in the midst of unspeakable pain.

Job 1:21 (NIV) – “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.”
